Timeless textiles · Meaningful stories

Woven for a brighter tomorrow

Every textile begins with someone’s story.
Kuhii simply helps it become part of yours.

Sarees, mekhela sador, suit sets and heritage fabrics, sourced directly from the weavers and artisans of India. Each piece is made to be kept for years.

Our Story

Timeless textiles.
Meaningful stories.

Kuhii Collection began with a simple belief: beautiful textiles deserve to be known not only for how they look, but for where they come from, who made them, and the traditions they carry.

Born in Guwahati, Assam, Kuhii is rooted in a part of India where weaving has always been more than a craft. Textiles live alongside everyday life — passed between generations, worn for celebrations and ordinary days alike, and treasured long after an occasion has passed.

From that beginning, our journey has taken us across India.

We travel to weaving villages, artisan clusters and workshops — from the Kota Doria looms of Rajasthan and the Tussar weavers of Bhagalpur to the Chanderi clusters of Madhya Pradesh — meeting the people behind the textiles and understanding the processes, materials and traditions that make each one distinctive.

We choose slowly and personally.

There are no seasonal collections to chase and no need to follow every passing trend. A piece finds its way into Kuhii because of its craftsmanship, authenticity, character and the hands behind it — and because we believe it deserves to be worn, loved and kept for years.

For us, that is what makes clothing meaningful.

What We Stand For

Indian textiles. People. Places. You.

Indian Textiles

We celebrate the extraordinary diversity of Indian textiles — handwoven fabrics, ikat, block prints, Kalamkari and regional traditions shaped over generations.

People

Behind every textile are people: weavers, printers, artisans and families whose knowledge gives each piece its character. Whenever possible, we go to them, meet them and source directly.

Places

Place matters. The block printers of Sanganer, the weavers of Maheshwar on the banks of the Narmada, the painters of Mithila and textile communities across India each leave something of themselves in what they create. We want you to know where your piece came from.

You

The story does not end with the artisan. It continues with the woman who chooses the piece — how she drapes it, styles it, celebrates in it and eventually makes it her own.

What is Kuhii?

Kuhii is our expression of intentional fashion — clothing chosen with care rather than consumed with haste.

It stands for craftsmanship, femininity and timeless elegance; for knowing where something came from, valuing the hands that made it, and choosing pieces that remain meaningful beyond a season.

Not fashion for a moment.
Textiles for a lifetime.

Our First Collection

RAAGYAI

The First Bloom

RAAGYAI was where Kuhii’s story first took form.

Named in celebration of a new life in our family, the collection represents beginnings — the birth of Raagyai, and the beginning of Kuhii Collection.

It brought together textiles selected with affection from artisans and weaving communities across India. Each piece represented what we wanted Kuhii to become: thoughtful, personal, rooted in craft and created to carry memories.

RAAGYAI was our first chapter.
There are many more stories yet to be woven.

Craft & Sourcing

From the hands that weave them

We go to the weaving villages and workshops ourselves. We meet the weavers, see the looms working, and choose pieces with the people who made them.

1

Weaves

Sheer Chanderi silk-cottons, airy Kota Doria, textured Bhagalpur Tussar, Maheshwari weaves and the handloom silks of the Northeast.

2

Prints & Paint

Sanganeri and Bagh hand block prints, Kalamkari and Madhubani, each pressed or painted by hand.

3

Embroidery

The mirror and thread work of Kutch and the delicate chikankari of Lucknow, stitch by patient stitch.

Meet the Founder

Madhusmita DasFounder, Kuhii Collection

Madhusmita started Kuhii Collection in Guwahati because she believed handcrafted textiles deserve a place in modern wardrobes, and that the artisans who make them deserve fair recognition.

She has travelled to the chikankari workshops of Lucknow and the embroidery villages of Kutch, and every piece in the collection is one she chose herself by meeting the weavers, understanding the craft and selecting only what she would wear.

“Every piece carries a story — of the hands that made it, and of the woman who will wear it next.”
